Berton Direct Returns Policy

Effective date: June 1, 2026
Version: 1.0

This Returns Policy applies to products purchased through a Berton Direct trade account and forms part of our Trade Account Terms of Sale.

Healthcare products are subject to strict handling rules. Once a product leaves our control, we often cannot confirm how it was stored, so our return rules are narrower than typical retail policies. They protect every customer's confidence that the products they receive are genuine and safe.

1. Report Problems Promptly

Please inspect every shipment on receipt and report issues within these windows:

IssueReport within
Visible shipping damage, shortages, or incorrect products2 business days of delivery
Concealed damage found when opening cartons5 business days of delivery
Product defect7 days of delivery, and before the expiration date
Ordering error on your part2 business days of delivery

Where possible, include photos of the damage, the packaging, and the shipping label.

2. A Return Authorization Is Required

Every return requires a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number issued by us before the product is sent back. To request one, contact us with:

Returns sent without an RMA number may be refused or will not receive credit.

3. What We Accept

Our errors. We accept returns and cover return shipping for products that were damaged in transit, shipped in error, delivered short, or defective. We will replace the product or issue a credit or refund.

Your ordering errors. At our discretion, we may accept returns of products ordered in error if all of the conditions in Section 4 are met. These returns may carry a restocking fee of 15%, and return shipping is at your cost.

4. Condition Requirements

To be eligible for credit, returned products must:

5. Products We Cannot Accept for Credit

Except where the problem was caused by us, we cannot accept returns of:

6. Prescription Products

Returned prescription products are subject to additional federal and state requirements. Where federal law requires it, we verify returned prescription products before accepting them back into saleable inventory. A returned product that cannot be verified, or whose handling cannot be confirmed, will not be returned to stock. Unless the return results from our error or a recall, no credit is issued for such products.

7. How to Return

  1. Request an RMA as described in Section 2.
  2. Pack products securely in their original cartons. Include a copy of the RMA, and write the RMA number on the outside of the shipping box.
  3. Ship within 5 days of the RMA being issued. For returns caused by our error, we will provide a prepaid shipping label or arrange pickup.

8. Inspection and Disposition

We inspect every return on arrival. Products that do not meet the requirements of this Policy are quarantined and then destroyed or returned to the manufacturer as required by law. We document each disposition. We do not send non-saleable returned products back to the customer.

9. Credits and Refunds

9.1 Approved returns are credited to your account, or refunded to the original payment method, within 10 business days of inspection.

9.2 Original delivery charges are refunded only when the return results from our error.

9.3 Credits for invoiced orders are applied against your account balance.

10. Recalls

Product recalls and withdrawals are handled separately from standard returns. If a product you purchased is recalled, we will notify you with instructions. Please follow them promptly and quarantine affected products. Credit for recalled products is issued according to the recall notice and does not require a standard RMA request. Recalled products are not subject to the time limits or condition requirements in this Policy.
